off … but a lot of times the doctor likes to look at the first pair.
He’ll measure them and stuff. Even if it’s the same doctor, and it’s on his records. At least that’s what I’ve always seen them do.
you can bring your glassesif you want, but you don’t really need them for the eye exams (I almost never wear mine to the appointments!)
If you’re going to the same establishment for an eye exam, they would have your record on file and you won’t need your old glasses to determine if your Rx changed. If you’re going to a different place then take your glasses so they can copy the Rx for comparison.
You wouldn’t have to actually put them on for the comparison.
If you would like to refrain from wearing them before going for the exam for an accurate refraction, that is fine also.
When a high myope comes in for an exam without glasses I always ask them how they got down to the office.
I always have my glasses with me for my eye exams. I really can’t function well without them. I don’t usually take my eye exams with my glasses on but the eye care specialist does check the prescription in the glasses when I have them off.
