Am I Cleaning My Soft Contact Lenses Right?

I have Acuvue Oasys soft contact lenses and I use Renu Multi-Purpose solution.

To clean my lenses I usually just rinse each lense a few tI ames in the case. Am I suppose to be rubbing the lenses with my finger to clean them? If so, is it hard to do that without tearing a lense?

It depends on the solution there are some that dont need rubbing just put it in fresh solution and let it clean for 4 hours.. no rubbing… if u want to then be carefull

remove one lens and place it in your palm. apply 2-3 drops of solution to each side and gently rub each surface of the lens in a side to side and back and forth motion

No, multi-purpose solutions require the rubbing as part of the cleaning routine. Only the No-Rub formulas are supposed to be used with rinsing only. However, no-rubs are not recommended as those are all the ones where people were getting eye funguses. (Renu No-Rub Solution)

Follow the instructions on the bottle and on the box, which will include rubbing each side for a few seconds, and then rinsing and storing. Make sure you wash your hands before you handle your lenses, too.

It’s not hard to do without tearing the lens, but do be careful. It may be more likely to tear if you have long nails or something, but as long as you are careful they should not rip easily.
