Am I Still Able to Wear Contact Lenses That Have Already Expired?

I’ve just got my contacts from a friend, and they’ve already expired. It says 2010/3 and it’s almost April. Is it bad to wear expired contact lenses(circle lenses).

When i bought contact lenses the optician told me to dispose them after it is expired since it can damage your pupil and the layer on top of your eye is really sensitive and it needs to breath and if you wear an expired contact lense it will going to damage that layer by preventing it to breath. I would suggest not to use them. Since we are not suppose to used expired stuff. Theres a reason why we have expiry date on everything. Just to be on the safe side ask any optician.
It will be fine. Just soak them in clean solution before wearing them. Just pour out the solution that came in the contact packs and soak them in clean solution in your contact case. They haven’t been expired long enough to cause any problems. However, when you put them in your eyes, if they don’t feel right or are uncomfortable, then I would discard them. Typically though, wearing them past the expiration date is just fine as long as you replace the solution like I mentioned. By the way, are they prescription contacts?? You mentioned that a friend gave them to you. If you have never worn contacts or been fitted for them, it’s not a good idea to wear them at all. Not to mention, it is never a good idea to wear someone else’s prescription contacts unless you wear the exact same prescription and same type of lenses with the exact same fit. You must be fitted correctly for contacts by your eye doctor. The fit for your friend might not be the right fit for you. Wearing improperly fitted contacts can actually cause damage to your eyes. That is something that you don’t want to risk.
