Are Certain Brands of Contact Lenses Easier to Put in Than Others?
I’m having some trouble putting in my contact lenses–I’ve had them for about 7 months, and I’m still going about it the way my eye doctor said to, but they’re getting harder and harder to get in. It used to be so easy! So I am wondering if I would have better luck switching brands. Does anyone know?

Yes, they are. It also depends on what kind you have. I have to use the taco trick anyway to put them in anyway. I usually get those fresh look ones.
gel based ones are the most comfortable and breathable.

no i don’t think its easier depending on brand. you probably haven’t really gotten the hang of it yet. i put in on the very tip of my index finger, pull down my lower lid and pop it in. sometimes it helps if you look up while doing it so you don’t poke your cornea. good luck!!!
i’ve worn contact lenses for years and there have been days when it was more trouble putting them in than other days.
figure out what problems you’re having. Do they stay on your finger, is a painful putting them in, are the lenses lubricated enough? could it be the solution you are using? has that switched?
Different contacts will feel different, depending on which you have.
The best thing for you to do is get with your doctore and/or contact lens specialist and they’ll be able to help.
heyyy
i belive tht contact lenses are all the same
but i dnt think im any help
I’ve tried Acuvue and Pro Clear. I didn’t notice any different. The Pro Clear seem to make my eyes feel less dry. Are your eyes dry? My optometrist recommended that I use lubricant eye drops every day (1 to 2 drops per eye). It has made it easier for me to get my contacts in when I do wear them.
I have had many different brands and yes some are easier to put in than others. The O2 optix are thicker I think and much easier to handle. The new ones I have are Night & Day and are very thin, I think I’ll lose too many of these. I would have your eye dr check your fit, you may have a contact that is too big for your eye and moving too much; that’s very uncomfortable and it could cause you problems with putting them in.
There are certain brands that are thicker and that hold their shape better so that when you’re trying to get them in, they aren’t flopping over on you so they are far easier to handle. Also, regular daily wear non-disposable contacts tend to be thicker and meatier than disposables. Disposable lenses are wonderful for their comfort and overall health benefits for your eye, but it can also make them very difficult to work with.
Do you wear disposable lenses, or regular non-disposable daily wear? It also could be that your lenses are old and that is why they giving you trouble. If they are disposable contacts, are you over-wearing them? If so, that could be causing you some issues. If they are non-disposable contacts, perhaps it is time for a new pair. 1 set of lenses is technically *supposed* to last you for an entire year under the best of circumstances, but I know many patients that cannot get them to last even half that long. We sell our non-disposable daily wear contacts in 2 pair packages and advise that you wear the first pair for 6 months and then switch to your second pair for the next 6 months.
Just a little advice from your friendly neighborhood Optician.
Yah, maybe the present brand is too soft. Try the silicon rnage of contact lenses. It is much better
Try this way. Place the contact lens on the tip of your index or middle finger. With the fingers and thumb of your other hand, simultaneously pull up on your upper eyelid and down on your lower eyelid.Position the lens on your eye while looking upward or forward. Roll your eyes in a complete circle to help the lens settle, then blink. For all details, information and remedies about contacts check out http://use-contactlens.blogspot.com/
