I think they are OK, but you should definitely be careful of a number of factors.
1. Visit a properly certified opthamologist or optician, to get the best recommendation for type of lens and to have them properly fitted.
2. Consider different types of lens: you will probably find daily disposables the easiest to handle, as these do not require cleaning. They are also much less susceptible to problems with air pollution, as you dispose of them after one wearing.
3. If you cannot afford daily disposables, consider monthly disposables for the same reason.
4. Ask your optician about the relative advantages of gas permeable versus hard lenses. He or she may be able to advise you which is the best to avoid pollution problems. Most people would probably opt for gas permeables.
I used to wear contact lenses when I was 14, and I lived in a big city, too. I did not have any adverse effects. However, it is important to have regular eye checkups with a reputable optician and to treat your eyes very carefully. If you cannot commit to this, it is probably best not to get contact lenses in the first place.
Contact lens is safe to wear! As long as the person wearing it takes EXTRA care of his eyes and washes the lens every night. Or u can just try the daily lens. U dont have to wash it, and just wear for one day and throw. Such easy ways! GOOD LUCK btw..
P.S : Indian or not, lens dont matter.. Dont have to put your race up..
