Are Contact Lenses Suppose to Feel So Uncomfortable?

Hey, I got contact lenses one week ago and I am wondering why my left eye hurts so much and is uncomfortable? The right eye feels normal like I am not wearing contact lenses, but when I blink in my left eye it hurts so much, it feels like something is in it!? Is this normal?

You shouldn’t even know the contacts are in your eye. Check and make sure the contact isn’t ripped. Also a lot of people put their contacts in their eyes with the lens being inside out. Take the contact out and flip it over then re insert it and see if that helps. You may have also scratched your eye and until it heals anything in it is going to hurt.
I have contacts too and sometimes my left eye feels like that too. Clean your left contact thoroughly in the morning. If it still hurts it might be torn and you may not know it. Even the littlest thing that gets stuck in your contact will make your eye hurt a lot. If your eye still hurts i suggest getting a new contact for your left eye. Also check if your contact is not inside out.

Go get it change or don’t wear lens just wear glasses..i personally think glasses are so shexy!! lol….but go asap to ur doctor or wherever you get ur lens from k!!!
Yeah, sometimes mine are uncomfortable…even after 3 years! So, it’s totally normal-
If you are having a strong pain, you should call you optical and tell them about it. There could be a rip in the contact, which, no matter how small, can cause pain. They could possible be dirty and need a good cleaning. Just call the optical, they may need to put you in a different brand or RX. Worse case, you were possibly given the incorrect contacts or even a bad box. Get them to recheck the contact lens box to their records to make sure it is correct. Hopefully it is an easy fix and everything will feel better soon!

maybe bcuz ur left eye is weaker and u need a stronger contact for that…
the exact same thing happened to me. just tough it out for a couple of days and youll be fine.
Yeah I’m experiencing the same at the moment, I thought I might have a corneal ulcer, as I had one last year in this same eye and it feels like that again. I went to the hospital today and they said they couldn’t see anything wrong, I’m not sure what to do, as I absolutely hate wearing glasses and have no confidence whilst wearing them. I need my eye to get better now!
