Can I Buy Contacts with an Eye Exam?

I’ve gotten glasses and contacts before with just one eye exam. This new place I want to go to has an "eye exam" for glasses, and a "contacts exam" for contacts. I just want my prescription so I can buy contacts elsewhere. Can I do this?

Nope you can’t. You probably had both checks at the same time in the old place so probably didn’t realise it… or they were doing somthing illegal!
Im afraid you glasses prescription and contacts prescription are two different things so there is nothing you can do.
Usually one gets an eye exam which includes a glasses prescription and at additional cost a contact lens "fitting." A fitting includes trying on "trial" contacts to balance the physical performance verses optical correction characteristics. To help narrow the choice decide beforehand if you want contacts you remove every night or contacts you remove once a week or once a month. Ideally you should try a few different brands of contacts over several days and report back your favorite.
