Can I Drive Home with One Contact Lens in?
My contact lens was bothering me so I took it out. Now it won’t go back in. My prescription in both eyes is the same, -3.50. You think I’m safe to drive home after work? It’s bothering me a little right now…

eek. i did that once. it was kinda scary, no depth perception. just don’t change lanes.
I wouldn’t do it, but my prescription is -6.5 and -6.75!
I would say it wouldn’t be safe. Your depth perception will be altered. If you MUST do it, be sure to keep a good distance from the vehicle in front of you.
Or do as someone else said, run to a drugstore and buy some cleansing solution.
I think you should ask a friend to pick you up, that sounds kind of dangerous!
yes just as long as you keep the eye missing the contact lens closed
I am blind in one eye and I drive just fine so you shouldnt have any issues
if you can see without either in, id take the other one out too. whenever i have 1 in 1 out i kinda go crosseyed but maybe that doesnt happen to you. go whichever way looks better to you
I donno, can you?
Been there. Shut the eye without the contact lens. Not best solution, but it’ll work.
I have went six months with only one contact. I had hard contacts when I was younger and lost one and couldn’t afford to get new ones, so I just went with one and I am blind without my contacts.
It will throw you a little off balance at first, but then you should be just fine. Good luck!
Don’t do what the above girl suggested and take your other lens out!!! You have worse eyesight than me and mine is pretty bad. I would try, try, try, to put the other one in if you can. If not, be VERY careful driving home. If you have to drive on the interstate, I would say it is not safe to drive home.
Is the contact in your dominant eye? To figure that out look around, do you feel like you see mostly clear?
If it’s on you’re dominant eye you’re okay, just drive extra careful and not too fast. If you feel like you see mostly blurry, you can’t drive like that. Run down to the nearest pharmacy and get one of those travel contact kits. Disinfect the lens that was bothering you and try to put it back in, it may have just been too dry. If it still bothers you, take it out. Disinfect the lens you are wearing really well and put it in the other eye, you are really lucky to wear the same prescription in both.
