Can I Put on Sterile Eye Drops While I Have My Contact Lenses on?

My eyes usually get really dry at night, and sterile eye drops really help. Im going to be somwhere tomorrow night so I want to know if I can still put them on even with my contact lenses.

Use eyedrops that are only made for contact lenes. Some eyedrops have preservatives that could irritate your eyes while the contacts are in. They could also affect the lens material, cause coloration, etc

Read the label. If the product contains benzalkonium chloride, it is better not to put them while you have your contacts on. There are products specially developed for this purpose, you can refresh your eyes while cleaning your lenses. Some of them are Alcon’s "Clerz Plus" and "Clerz 2", and STI Lab’s "Contact Lens Relief"

only ones that say "safe for contacts" one good brand is called "blink"

I wouldn’t use sterile eye drops. Use eye drops that are designed specifically for contacts.
I use Opti-Free Replenish Rewetting drops, they’re pretty good.

wat do u mean by "sterile"? u shld use eyedrops tat r perservative free drops like refresh plus.

  • James P says:

Use the contact lens solution called "Blink".
It’s preservative free once it reaches the eyes…….meaning that your eyes will not get dryer from the preservatives.
Also, make sure the label say "For soft contact lenses" because anything else would ruin the contact lenses.
