Can I Use Contact Lens Solution to Sterilize a Needle?
Ok, so I am going to pierce my own ear, and I know that the needle you use has to be sterile. Can I use contact lens solution to sterilize the needle, or do I need to buy some rubbing alcohol? Please no responses saying I shouldn’t pierce myself, I am 100% sure
Thanks x

Actually I’ve heard that holding it over a flame can actually produce more germs.
the needle may contain a coating that melts once it’s exposed to direct heat.
dropping it in boiling water can help, also rubbing it with an alcohol solution (that does not include hard liquor).
For mine, I sprayed it with Lysol, wiped it off, boiled it and gently wiped it a bit of rubbing alcohol. So now I have a perfectly healthy double-labret lip piercing (aka a spiderbite) and a cartilage piercing.
The best way to sterilize a needle is to hold a flame under it for a few seconds, then wait for it to cool. then don’t allow anything else to touch it until you use it. The flame will kill any germs.
