Can I Use My Contact Lenses Prescription to Get Eyeglasses?
I have a current prescription for contact lenses (-3.00, both eyes, no astigmatism, etc.) and I want to get a pair of eyeglasses as backup. I am thinking of getting one online but I am hesitant to do so because I’ve read that I need to get another eye exam specifically for eyeglasses. Will I be harming my eyes by assuming it’s -3.00 also for eyeglasses?

Before you go somewhere else for a glasses exam, call the office that did your contact prescription. Chances are they have your glasses prescription on file. Most doctors will do a glasses exam immediately because they need the refraction for the contact fitting.
Your eyeglass prescription uses different numbers than the contact lens prescription. You should have backups. Go somewhere that offer inexpensive eye exam and get it done right. Try Walmart Eye Dr
Eye glass prescriptions and contact lens prescriptions are two totally different and will not work. There are numbers on the eyeglass prescription that aren’t on the contact lens prescription.
When an eye doctor generates a prescription it is usually either for glasses or for contact lenses. The contact lens prescription has measurements that are different than what one may see for glasses. If you obtained a prescription for glasses, including your inter pupillary distance (distance from center to center of pupils in both eyes), you could certainly purchase your glasses online if you wish. Then you would need to have the temples, and perhaps, the frame adjusted for fitting in an optical store/office of your choice.
Contact lens prescriptions are always less compared to glasses (the only exception is if you have astigmatism)
No you won’t be harming your eyes but you won’t get the best vision quality that you could of gotten with the right prescription.
Maybe you should order glasses with -3.25 assuming glasses need higher prescriptions than contacts.
