Can I Use the Contact Lens After Disinfecting It?
Hi I am using B & L lens. I had stored it in an unopened lens case in Renu Multi Purpose solution at a strech for 50 days without changing the solution (Wherein the prescription states that it can be stored upto 30days) and now i have changed the solution & cleant the lens & i have stored it in a fresh solution of Renu. Is it safe to reuse the lens or should i discard it?

yes you can still re use it..as long as it has no damaged…
To be honest, I would throw it away. The contact breaks down after so long (that is why the lens company says 30 days only). You may not have any problems with wearing it another week or so at the most. But better to throw it away and start with another pair. If you wear them so infrequent- look into the daily cls-that you throw away at the end of the day. Hope this helps!!
only if you did it with caution and properly
Yes u can use it confidence because it will do no harm at all.
I also use B & L lens and Renu Multi Purpose. Contact lens are tricky things. I can tell you that I wear mine much longer than the recommended time, and 50 days is nothing. However, I’d hate you to use the lens and then end up with an eye infection or ulceration cornea based on my recommendation.
Give your (or any) optometrist a call and ask. They cost too much to throw away for no reason, but your eyes are much more valuable.
The lens is just fine! As long as it has been kept wet during that period of time it will wear okay. Just make sure you clean the lens after wearing it each time.
These contact lens companies want to sell more lenses and make more money. Me too. I want you to buy more from me so I can make more money too. Really though unless the lens is damaged in any way, keep wearing it. If you feel it is uncomfortable throw it away, but do not throw it away because your local optometrist or other eyecare provider said so. You have a choice in the matter!
