      I guess, you are referring to soft contact lenses.
      The lens should float (move) on your cornea(front of eye) with every blink. Doctor’s clinical knowledge decides as to how much movement is OK.
      A lens with BC=8.4 will fit tighter than 8.6. A tight lens will feel better in first few hours of wear but may cause problem by the end of the day.
      This means, we should go by prescriber’s recommendation but not by seller’s recommendation.
