I’ve been wearing contact lenses a few years now so i’m used to them already. I use eye drops throughout the day to keep my eyes from being dry-is that okay?

It is okay to do it every once in a while… but don’t make a habit of it. A person’s eyes need to breathe, and they can’t do it through lenses.

You shouldn’t use contacts for longer than 8 hours. Your eyes need air as well as moisture so eye drops only do a little good. And you need to make sure that the eye drops can be used with contacts in because some are not supposed to be used with contacts. My eye doctor told me that wearing contacts for too long can cause astigmatism, because your eyes try to reach out for more oxygen. Even the breathable ones shouldn’t be used for more than 8 hours per day. They may be a little more breathable than most contacts, but they mostly just say that as a marketing ploy.
