Can I Wear Contact Lenses When I Have Pinkeye?

members of my family have recently had pinkeye, and i think i might have it too. i usually wear contacts. is it safe to wear my contacts and normal eye makeup while i have pinkeye, or should i just stop using them until it goes away? i have a huge project to present tomorrow, and would really like to look nice if it’s possible.

If you have any form of infection or your eye is not its usual self dont wear them.. it could make it worse.. if you have glasses wear them or just go without lol

No, please don’t. Wearing contacts while you have the pink eye can cause permanent retina damage. Tearing in the cornea. You don’t want that. Please consult your ophthalmologist before doing it if you won’t listen to me. Be safe. Your eyesight is very important!!!

do not wear them. you’ll not only be cutting off some much needed oxygen to your eye, but whatever infection you have will get on your contacts. unless you want to have pink eye again and cause even more damage to your eye, you’ll be much better off wearing your glasses.

just a side note, pink eye is extremely contagious, so it may not be such a good idea to present your project in a room full of people… with eyes. unless you won’t be in a room full of people, then you’re all set! :D

same for the makeup, your mascara brush and eyeliner (assuming you use it) will get the bacteria on them, so that’s a bust :/

    hope that helped!
