Can I Wear My Contact Lenses When I’m Swimming?
Ok, I’m going to the nude beach this weekend and I was wondering if I would wear my contact lenses if/when I go swimming or get into the water. We are supposed to be going some where after we are done at the beach so I would rather not wear my glasses since we are going out later. So should I just take my contacts with me and put them in after we are done there or could I just put them in and leave them in?

I would take them out while you are swimming and put them back in later. It is not advisable to wear contacts while swimming or being in water. Soft contacts will absorb anything they can! If you swim while wearing contacts you can get an eye infection called Acanthamoeba. "Acanthamoeba is a microbe that is very common in the environment, including in tap water. It has two forms: the trophozoite and the cyst. The infective form is the trophozoite, which can change into a cyst and survive a long time. These trophozoites and cysts can stick to the surface of your contact lenses and then infect your eye."
Apparently this infection is difficult to treat and can cause blindness so i think its best to prevent it and not wear contacts while swimming.
you answered it girl =take them with you and put them in later
are you going underwater? or just lay in the sand? if your swimming in the water no but if your sunbathing go ahead
i wear contacts too, and i don’t know if you just got them or what, but if you did, it’s understandable to be curious about when you should where them. you can where them when you’re swimming, but you have to be careful. just don’t open your eyes under water, and don’t rub them too much, cause one could slip out of your eye if you rub it too hard. but yes, you can wear them while your swimming, just try not to forget that they’re there.
I wore mine swimming once but it depends. Are your dailys? Like do oyu take them out at the end of the day and throw them away?
Just put your contacts in after you are finished with beach activities. It’s never a good idea to wear contacts at the beach because of sand contamination problems. Have a great weekend!
no…they will float out of your eyes in the water…wear them AFTER you swim and get the salt water/chlorine out of your eyes…
I would take them out at the beach, then put them in later once you leave. It takes only a few minutes and then you have no worries. Always err on the side of caution when it comes to your eyes!
