Can Someone Give Me Some Tips on Putting in and Taking Out Contact Lenses?

I haven’t had much experience with contact lenses. They are the cosmetic kind, just to change my eyecolor. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to put them in and take them out, and any additional tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When putting my contacts in, I put the contact on the tip of my right pointer finger. I hold my eyelids wide open with my 2 middle fingers (right finger holds down the bottom lid, left finger (upside down) holds up the top lid.) Then look at yourself in the mirror and pop in your contact. Do the same with your left eye.

When taking them out, get your hands into the same position, middle fingers pulling at the eyelids and pointer finger going towards the eye. Put your pointer finger on the lens and drag it toward the bottom of you eye. It should fold up a bit. Then pick out the contact using your thumb and pointer finger. You’ll almost feel like you’re pinching it out.

Make sure your hands are very clean when taking out and putting in contacts. Any small fuzzies or dirt will hurt your eyes.

These directions were all given to me when I got my contacts by a liscenced optomitrist. Good luck!

Be sure to wash your hands and rinse well. Make sure to wash the lenses with plenty of wetting /cleaning solutioj. Shake them off and air dry slightly holding on tip of finger(easiest one)with rounder part sitting on finger in a bowl effect. Now place gently on eye while being suuurrre to look up into the mirror the whhole time.It should clip on to the surface in a couple of seconds. If not try again until it does. You might have to let it dry a little longer after cleaning them. You’ll need a prescription from an eye doctor [optomotrist].He’ll choose a brand to fit the curve of your eyes.Do not leaveave drawers or your hand bag open beneath where you are inserting these. When(if) you drop one they’verry difficult to find if they’ve fallen into something. Also,be sure to close the screw top to the holder real tight so the solution doesn’t evaporate. They will dry out and break or tearif they get in the air.To take them out put a finger on themp robably the pointing finger and your thumb also while looking up in the mirror and squeeze or pinch them slightly they will bend into your finger. This is after washing and drying your hands again. This is real important to keep the lint off of them.

the guys above basically got the application thing covered.. but just a word of advice.. theres no such thing as "no rub" contact fluid. make sure you clean your contacts in the paml of your hand with solution, rubbing the contact in a " + " sing [ NOT in a circle ] eyes are very sensitiv and you can get all kinds of problems with em if you use dirty contacts!!

Putting in contact lenses, I pull the eyelid down with my middle finger, and with the contact on my first finger, I put a few drops of solution in it and pop it in my eye.

Taking out my contacts, I put my thumb and pointer finger on the sides of the lens and "pinch" it together. (not with too much force, though!!)
