Can Watching a Lot of Tv or Using the Computer a Lot Increase Astigmatism?

I keep hearing it’s true.
I keep hearing that it’s the reason that kids get glasses and astigmatism.
Is it really true?
Let’s say I spent a lot of my tI ame watching tv than an average person, does it mean I’ll have more astigmatism than an average person?

Astigmatism is caused from the shape of your eyeball.
When I was a kid I was outside playing all the time because we had about 5 tv channels so didn’t watch it much and I have astigmatism and very bad nearsightedness. I don’t think what you are looking at has very much to do with it.
