You probably would not go blind from sleeping in contacts, but it could cause serious eye infections in the future. If you’re so worried about it, you shouldn’t have a problem remembering to take them out at night.
Contacts have a kind of suction effect on your eye, so they won’t fall out randomly during the day. You can exercise, run, play, do sports, and get involved in any other activities you like without worrying about them coming out. Rubbing your eyes too hard can cause them to fall occasionally, but I’m assuming you already knew rubbing your eyes when there’s a piece of plastic on them is kind of a bad idea.
Contacts cause dry eyes in some people, but not all. If they make your eyes dry or irritated, buy rewetting drops that come from the same company that makes your contact solution. These will keep your contacts moist and stop them from drying out. make sure you get the right brand, and don’t get normal drops for dry eyes, as these are not meant to be used with contacts.
It’s impossible to come up with a price range for you, since it depends on the company, how good/bad your vision is, and whether or not you need special lenses, such as toric ones for people with astigmatism. For most poeple, a one year supply is anywhere from $200 to $300. Plus, you will still need a pair of glasses, as you can’t wear contacts 24/7. But if you want my personal opinion, it’s totally worth it. You see much better with contacts than you do with glasses, and once you get used to them, caring for them each day will be second nature.
Well if you take precautions such as taking them out around a certain time you won’t sleep in them. If they fall out of your eye, you can get new ones (they are very to remove). Removing them is hard at first, but becomes easier. The only bad thing is if you sleep with them, they’ll roll under your eye lid and you have to rub it out. My best advice would be to take it out around 7 and wear your glasses. Wear your glasses at times when you’re not socializing.
If you’re scared of sleeping in them, get some that you put in in the morning and take out at night. They don’t fall out at random unless you’re rubbing your eyes a whole lot. Sleeping with them in accidentally one time won’t make you go blind, they will just be dry and irritating. Don’t get the glass ones. Mine are Optix 2 Breatheable Contact lenses (the kind you put in in the morning & take out at night before you go to bed.)
I’ve gone to bed with them in several times accidentally, but the only problem I had was them being sticky and uncomfortable. A little solution and cleaning helped. Mine cost about $40 for one box of 6.
