I could wear them comfortably at one time but now that I’ve developed dry eyes, contact lenses start irritiating my eyes after a few hours and I have to remove them.
Hi, yup sure you can. My cousin has vision of 1.25 and she has lenses especially made for her from her optomitrist. She has a variety of colors too.. she uses freshlook most of the time… !!

Contact lenses can be made to work for almost any prescription these days. Finding a doctor that is willing to fit them is a different matter as they are difficult to fit and sometimes require multiple follow up visits. For high prescriptions, the contact lenses are usually custom made, so they can take up to 6 weeks to order and can be quite expensive. You may want to ask around in your local area and try to find a doctor that specializes in difficult prescriptions.
It depends on how bad your eyesite eyes why dont you ask an eye doctor?
Yes. My eyesight is -8.50 in both eyes and I wear contacts. However, when your eyesight is this bad, only some brands make contacts that are that high up.
You can.
My Mum has -7.75′s, which is very bad. The only thing is though, if you have such bad eyesight, I think you can only get hard lenses, which means that they last basically for your whole life (unless you lose one), and don’t flip inside out, though more expensive. (About £80 a pair.)
If your eyes aren’t as bad, maybe up to +/-5.00, then I think it is possible to get soft lenses. These lenses are quite a bit softer. They can flip inside-out, but once you get used to it, it is quite easy to tell whether they are before putting them in. If you do happen to put them in inside-out, then really, the only thing is that they would be kind of uncomfortable in the day, which you don’t really want.
Starting off, you should get daily contacts as you don’t have to maintain them, you can just throw them away, but then soon, as you get into it then it might be useful to go to monthly contacts, which need to be put away and cleaned/sanitised every night.
Hope I helped
It depends on why your eyesight is "bad". Generally speaking, contacts can correct your vision as well as glasses, and in some cases, better than glasses. However, if your vision is limited by something other than refraction (i.e. the strength of your prescription), then it may be that neither glasses nor contacts can fully correct your vision.
The other part of you question is if only some people can wear contacts. In order to wear contacts, the front of your eye must be healthy. For example, people with extremely dry eyes find it difficult to wear contacts because they become irritating. Your eye doctor can tell you for sure if your eyes are suitable for contact lenses.
I have really bad (I think) eyesight, and I’ve been wearing contacts since I was 8. Depending on what scale you use, it’s 20/750 or -6.5. Hopefully this helps, good luck!
