You can not wear them in Marine Corps boot camp. You wouldn’t want to anyway. With all the dirt and sweat they would just get messed up. Plus you would end up loosing them the first time you get IT’d (Incentive Training). Unfortunately you will have to wear what is affectionately refereed to as "birth control goggles" (BCG’s). They get their name because there is no way you are picking up a date with those things on your face. Or "portholes" derived from the word for the window of a ship.
After boot camp you can wear contacts again or get designer (but not extravagant) glasses. Keep your BCG’s for field work because they get messed up anyway.
