No contacts while in training, that is pretty standard throughout the branches. You will wear glasses until you are finished. And then based on where you go and your chain of command you may continue to wear glasses for safety. Contacts aren’t really what you would call military applicable. And yes you still wear BCG’s.

You cannot wear contacts while in training. You will be given an eye exams and they will issue you some lovely, thick, black framed glasses "Birth Control Glasses" that you will be required to wear during training. My husband wears contacts too and hated the glasses. It’s a safety issue. If you lose a contact, you would interrupt training and could be a danger to yourself and others depending on what you are doing. They do not give you enough time to care for your contacts, put them in, take them out. You need to be ready at a moment’s notice and you can’t do that with contacts.

Once you go to Tech School, you can wear your contacts.

Sorry, it’s birth control glasses for you while you are in Boot Camp. Things haven’t changed at all.

You’ll also want to have BCG’s so if/when you end up starting to get qualified to do Law Enforcement, you have glasses to wear for a couple of days after you get sprayed with OC Pepper Spray… you DON’T want to be wearing contacts for that!!!
