Can You Wear Contact Lenses on a 4 1/2 Hour Flight?

I am flying out in a few days and was wondering if it was okay to wear contact lenses on a 4 1/2 hour flight? Will my eyes get dry if I do this? Should I bring another pair? I have to put them in three hours in advance prior to the flight and then wear them for 4 1/2 hours on the flight. Thanks in advance!

Of course you can. Yes, your eyes might get a bit dry and painful, but turning off your air conditionsing vent should help this to make sure that the air isn’t being blown into your eyes. I would always take another pair with me, and a pair of glasses if you have them.

Ultimately, it is only 4 and a half hours, so it really shouldn’t be a problem.

this is not that long a flight! you’ll be fine….maybe take some of those artificial tears, if your eyes tend to dry
