Can You Wear Sunglasses Over Contact Lenses?
I wear contact lenses because I’m short-sighted and that. So I was wondering if you could wear sunglasses, while wearing contact lenses. Would the sunglasses ruin the contacts, like would I still be able to see just as far with the sunglasses on?
Thanks in advance!

Its quite normal to wear sunglasses over contact lenses. With your contact lenses in your eyes are effectively normal eyes and therefore you can wear sunglasses as people with perfect vision do. You will be able to see just as far – if you think about it people with normally perfect vision wouldn’t wear sunglasses if tehre was a problem. Lenses can make your eyes more sensitive to sunlight so wearing sunglasses is a good idea. One note of caution – if you have worn glasses before contacts then glasses these days are so light and comfortable sunglasses can seem heavy and uncomfortable by comparison. You still have the advantage with contacts that you have the field of view but sunglasses can be annoying as you have higher standards than others. I shopped round and eventually got sunglasses from the opticians.
Yes you can
Yes you can. It won’t ruin anything. It is the same thing if you have then in or not. You will still see the same but it will be darker. I hope this helped.
Yes, there won’t be a problem with wearing non prescription sunglasses over prescription contacts.
As long as there is enough light to see, you should be able to see into the distance just fine, depending on the tint of the sunglasses.
You can try using tinted glasses used for shooting (amber lens sunglasses), vs darker tinted lenses to see which work better for you.
No, the sunglasses will not harm or hurt the contacts. Sunglasses will in fact help protect your eyes from UV rays from the sun, (if they have UV protective lenses), as well as form a wind break to help keep your contacts and eyes from drying out in breezy conditions. Wrap around glasses will help even more.
it’s not like you’re wearing your sunglasses in your eyes so yea obviously you can see
if they are a prescription lens, they will not work. an otc pair will be fine.
you’d be able to see just as far — perhaps farther, without the glare of the sun in your eyes. contacts make glare even worse, so wearing sunglasses in bright conditions is actually recommended by optometrists.
my sister does if that helps any
