I have pretty much good eye site. I do however notice that ocassionaly when I am reading something far away it looks fussy, or I mis up letters (the D might look like a b or something) this doesnt always happen however. I also notice that I havea tendency to hold papers very cloe to my face, I can hold it away and read it fine but I just have a tenency to hold it close to my face. In doctors office eye tests when I cover my right eye the eye chart goes blurry and if I take a few minutes and blink my eyes my it gets less blurry, but is not totally clear. However voerall I don’t have major problems. Do I have a minor astigmatism? What all do you need to do to have an astigmatism diagnosed and get glasses to help? Do people with a stigmatism have to wear their glasses at all tI ames or is it only when you are doing certin things?

i have astigmatism in my left eye and when i close my right eye i see kind of blurry but when i look with both my eyes i see fine so because of this i don’t wear glasses and haven’t for about 3 years now. sometI ames i get headaches but its more like eye aches in my left eye, i know that sounds really funny but thats what its like!! should i get glasses? the last tI ame i went to the opticians the guy said i didn’t need them because my right eye could compensate for my left eye being bad. and also can i wear contact lenses (or one contact lens lol xD) even though i’m only 14 cuz i have a friend who wears them and shes younger than me. also why is my eye hurting because it hurts kinda oftenly occasionally type of thing its vairrrrr vair annoying.

I am worried / curious if anyone knows what are the long – term effects of having astigmatism in your eyes?
I cannot see writting too well like in books, on product labels… and often I need the magnifyer to read the monitor print. I am wondering if it will progressively get even worst as i get older…. I am 46yo now…..yea I wear glasses too but this is with the glasses on…with them off it is really hard to read…can’t even read the tI ame from the digital clock without being "right on top of it."

Is my astigmatism pretty bad if I can’t wear normal colored contact lenses? My eye doctor told me there’s only one company that makes them for my type of eyes. Also when I wear contacts everything seems bigger somehow, but when I wear my glasses it seems normal size and I look different, like skinnier.

What all symptoms can happen if you have astigmatism? I have been having lots of problems with my eyes. I have glasses but can’t wear them. I have tried for three years to adapt and I can’t. My eyes have been going blurry and they are red and swollen a lot. Also when I am doing my hair and looking upward a lot my eyes feel like they get strained. Also, my eyes seem to jump sometI ames. Is there a natural way to fix an astigmatism? I was never born with one. But I have noticed since I stay on the computer a lot my eyes have become blurry. i can see completely clear in an outside setting. I just have bad vision in an area with unnatural light. My daughter has both astigmatism and nastagmuss, although knowing laser eye treatment won’t help her nastagmuss it would her vision. I have read that yoyou can have laser treatment for astigmatism but don’t know if having the other eye condition will hamper this or not.

Just recently I noticed this thing with my vision. Im not sure if I just developed it or I had it all along but never noticed it. I have astigmatism in both eyes (.75) When I wear someone elses prescription glasses I get this weird effect. If I am standing still everything is straight. If I move my head to the right keeping my eyes straight, everything seems to tilt to the right, and if I move my head to the left everything seems to tilt to the left (for example, a street light will appear to bend to the left along with me when I move my head to the left and keep my eyes on it) With prescription contacts I didnt notice it and without anything at all Im not sure if its there or not (the effect) It might be, but its barely noticeable. The question is, will astigmatism make this kind of effect or is this some other unrelated problem? Im thinking its possibly the astigmatisms, and the wrong glasses tend to worsen the effect, but Im not sure
If its not the astigmatisms, what else can be causing this effect?
And lastly, can wearing different prescription worsen the astigmatism temporarily or permanantly

I just found out I have an astigmatism and may need glasses. I know essentially what that is as was describes by the eye doctor, but what can you tell me about it? I have had astigmatism for over 7 years. I am tired of wearing glasses because i know that don’t help correct my vision. I also tried wearing hard contacts but they are such a pain that i gave up on them. My doctor advises me that i cant get soft contacts for my astigmatism, am i allowed to wear contacts?
