Colored Contacts?

okay so i have really big eyes, and when i wear colored contacts the color goes over my pupil a little because the contact doesn’t stay right in the middle of my eye… i guess because of the way it’s shaped ? and i can’t see out of them because of it.

so would a normal eye doctor be able to order contacts that have a different base curve or something… or would i have to get them like specially made to be able to wear colored contacts?

good lord, you shouldn’t be wearing contacts that haven’t been fitted to your eyes – you can cause permanent damage. go to an eye doctor and they will be happy to get you fitted with colored contacts, then you will go back in a week or so in order to make sure they are comfortable and safe. good luck and don’t wear them again until you visit the doctor!

Do you have naturally light eyes? If so, you’d probably be better off getting colored contacts made specifically for light eyes (I know Acuvue makes them, along with others). Instead of having a pixilated ring of color that sits over your iris, there’s an all over tint that sits over both your pupil and iris. Not only can you see through the color, but it’s more natural looking. I think the pixilated ones look like someone spray painted your eye! They can still have dramatic effects. I used green for a while and my eyes looked lime green. I liked it a lot!
