I’m curious to know if you have an actual contact rx or just a glasses rx. If you had a contact rx you would already have trial contacts and know which ones you would need. If you only got a glasses rx you need to go to your doctor and have a contact lens fitting. Most doctors will give you a trial pair of contacts that day to wear and you will have to go back and let the dr know how you are doing. There are hundreds of contact brands out there. Depending on where you go to get the contacts is how long it is going to take. If you get them from a dr’s office, they typically carry a bunch of different kinds. The higher the rx is the more likely it is that you are going to have to wait to get them. Dr’s offices don’t carry the very high rx’s and very low rx’s. My recommendation is go talk to your eye doc about it. But remember if you do go with contacts you will have to pay for a fitting every year, probably going to have to pay for your solutions, and buy contacts every 3 to 6 months.
my sister has lazy eye. One of her eyes has perfect vision and the other is pretty bad. She just has contacts for that one weak eye. She could get normal contacts – she has Acuvue Oasys. All she did was buy it for the one eye. I know you can mix match perscriptions though. All you have to do is buy a box of each perscription you need. I would recommend Acuvue Oasys as well – it’s called Oasys because it’s good for dry eyes. They are quite expensive though. I think it’s $30 a box or something like that. You need 8 boxes for a year, so that’s $240 a year.
Oh, and about waiting, it depends on how high your perscription is. If it’s higher than -3.00, you usually have to wait.
