Contact Lens and Glasses Question?
I’ve been getting my contact lens from an optometrist for two years now. However, I have moved to the city and I was wondering if I can use my same prescription at a new optometrist or if I need to do another eye examine to get a new prescription.
Also, a screw fell out of one of my frames, and one of the lenses came out. Can they put a new screw in free of charge or will it cost anything. I don’t really care if it does, I was just wondering.

Contact lens prescriptions are good for 1 year, and your glasses prescription is good for 2 years, so if you go to the Dr within that time frame, your prescription will still be good.
My ophthalmologist tightens my glasses for free, so it isn’t hard to pop the lens back in, or tighten the screw, so they shouldn’t charge you if they want new business from you. Hope this helps!
Eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions don’t have set expiration dates on them, like one year or two years. They "generally" expire yearly, but ultimately your eye doctor writes specifically when they expire.
As long as you are prior to the written expiration date, you are fine.
As for the screw, no one should charge you to replace the screw, and they should adjust and clean your glasses while you are there as well. If they are charging you for that, go elsewhere!
