Contact Lens Fitting Necessary Again?

i was wondering if i really need to get a contact lens fitting when i had one about two years ago? cant they just look back in the files and use those measurements? it just seems unnecessary to pay my copayment for my new prescription, a fitting fee, and for the contacts.

No, a new fitting is not necessary. I called around and found an optometrist who will renew my prescription without charging a fitting fee each time. I only have to pay for the exam. She told me the only time a fitting was necessary is if you were just starting contacts or if you were changing brands. Sadly, doctors are padding their bank accounts providing the unnecessary procedures.
The fitting fee should be less than it was the first time. The doctor still needs to evaluate those lenses on your eyes and make sure they are still appropriate.
