Contact Lens Prescription Verification? Asshole Boss?
I work at an optical store. I recently got a free contact exam as a courtesy, and because I’m an employee. Unfortunately I work for a franchise, so when I tried ordering contacts online (instead of overpaying at the store), the prescription verification from the online store was faxed over. The owned saw it, ripped it apart, and almost fired me for being "unfaithful" to the company I work for. Also, I failed to mention that any prescription verification inquiry the store receives by fax is destroyed. Is this legal? Is there any way for me to order contacts without having to have a prescription verification, because I know it will get ripped up anyways. I would honestly rather have payed for a contact exam than go through all this trouble with my boss and ordering contacts. Please helpppp.

wow.
s/he is quite mean.
anyway, no, all contacts ordered online must be verified.
i’d say the only way is to order from your boss’ store.
if you went to another optometrist and tried them, then your boss would know you were wearing contacts because no glasses.
unless you want to be fired from your job…order them overpriced
