Contact Lens Question?

my sister’s brother-in-law is an optometrist and just gave my sister a bunch of contact lens [prescription] for me. I usually wear acuvue but the ones she gave me were ciba vision and optix 2. some of the dates on there are from like 2006.
is it okay to still wear them since they aren’t open and is it okay to wear a different name brand one?

They don’t actually expire, just use them.
The solution is probably well expired by now and contact lenses don’t expire. The ingredients in the solution starts to degrade and become ineffective.
Also, it seems like you haven’t had proper fitting of the new lenses. It may be too tight around your cornea and cause eye problems.
So my verdict: throw them away
