Contact Lenses… Daily Wear Vs. Disposable or Extended Wear Lenses?
I have been wearing Ciba Softcolors daily wear contact lenses for the last 24 years. My optometrist said that certain lens manufacturers are going to start discontinuing daily wear lenses (I’m not sure if my lens is one of them).
In any case, I was wondering if anyone had some experiences with switching from daily wear to extended wear/disposable lenses and which lens brands you might recommend. Thanks in advance!

Daily wear lenses can only be worn as daily wear and could damage the eyes if someone forgot to take them out at night.
Extended wear can also be worn as daily wear with out harm. The safest technique is to wear extended wear as daily wear.
You are adjusted to Ciba. I would stick with them. They sell all these types.
Acuvue Oasys tend to be the best and the most liked by patients. You shouldn’t have a problem with these just make sure you change your contact solution after every use and you shouldn’t have any problems. Ask your optometrist for a sample. I don’t know why he would tell you that your contact lens manufacturer might go out of business without trying to get you adjusted to something new. Hope this helped. Good luck!
