Could I Still Have a Brain Tumor Even if My Eye Exam Turned Out Fine?

I had recently posted a question regarding my fear over having a brain tumor. I went for an eye exam at the opticians today – preferably to see if the opticians could see anything but also to see if I needed glasses – and my results checked out fine. I didnt mention that I wanted to know if there was anything strange regarding my brain. He said that there was nothing suspicious at all. Can you still have a brain tumor if your eye resulst checked out ok??

Was it an Optician or Opthamologist (Medical doctor specializing in eyes)? An optician is not qualified to make those determinations.
Yes, an eye exam will not show a brain tumor….it is an eye exam- looking at eyes, you would need a brain exam….i.e. CT or MRI of the brain, however, are you having any symptoms? headaches, nausea/vomitting, dizziness, unsteady gait, confusion, periorbital edema???? (and I don’t mean just one symptom) If not, then don’t worry about a breain tumor!!!
Of course you can…why do you think you have a brain tumor? An eye doctor in NO way can detect a brain tumor….Make an appointment with your primary doctor then he/she will then decide if you need a referral…Good luck to you….:)
