A stye is a bacterial infection. You should not wear contacts if you have a stye because bacteria from the stye can find refuge behind the contact lenses and possibly infect the cornea or cause pink eye..
Wearing the contacts might actually feel better because it will provide a barrier between that stye and your cornea. That way, it isn’t rubbing directly over your eye. You’ll just want to take extra care to clean your contacts very well and discontinue use immediately if you have any signs of ocular infection (redness, discharge, pain, sensitivity to light). Use warm compresses to help with that stye and if it doesn’t go down, see your eye doc for some topical meds to help. Styes that are let go too long can sometimes harden (instead of being pus filled) and would then need to be surgically excised.
