Did My Doctor Wrongly Prescribe Me Astigmatism?

I just came back from the eye glass shop, taking the eye test and getting new glasses on the same day. They said I have astigmatism and I think my glasses are correcting..

Now that I have my new glasses things are clearer when I look straight but if I try to use my peripheral vision or look from the other parts of the lens it’s blurry.

My old glasses are non astigmatism correcting and although less clear overall, it wasn’t blurry at different angles.

The new glasses may have been improperly ground. Take them to your eye doctor (not to the place that made the glasses) and ask the staff to check them against your prescription.
