Do Contact Lenses Make a Difference to Eyesight Straight Away?

Hi guys I am currently doing a trial with contact lenses to see how i get on with them so I am new to all this. The thing is i have them in and i cant really notice a huge difference to my eye sight. Do my eyes have to adjust to them first before my sight is I amproved or are they supposed to work straight away????? contacts wearers can you please help, thanks.

I have worn contacts for over 27 years…I actually see better with contacts than with glasses.
If you are doing a trial…did the doctor just give you no prescription lenses to see if they were comfortable for you?
When I began wearing contacts, I was given a "trial " pair, just to see if I could put them in and take them out…I had them for a week…then I went back to be fitted for my prescription lenses.
You may want to check and see if this is what you doctor did.
Have you tried putting your glasses on with your contacts, to test this theory?

If the prescription is correct for you, then yes you should be able to see clearer, just like if you put on a pair of glasses. It may take a min or so for you to get used to the contact actually being on your eyes, but otherwise, you should be able to focus and see. Just keep blinking. That goes without saying. Now if you have the ones that have the bifocal part to them, you have to look up and allow them to slide on your eye. This allows the proper positioning. Don’t know if that is what you mean or not. I didn’t have good luck with those.

When you first put them in, it will be very blurry but after about 5 minutes, you should notice the improvement, like if you had just put glasses on, but when you’re new to them, the improvement isn’t as good as it is after a few days of wearing them. If you get to about a week and you still can’t see properly you might need a different prescription or different type of lenses.

They are supposed to correct your eyesight right away.

You might not notice a difference depending on what you’re looking at and if you are near or far sighted.

You could have also gotten the wrong strength, though that’s highly unlikely (if you went to a legitimate eyedoctor of course).
