Do I Have to Get a Full Eye Exam or Can I Just Get My Prescription Updated?

So im pretty sure that my vision has gotten worse and I want to get a stronger prescription for my contacts. I just had an exam in june so do I need to have another one or can they just update the prescription?

Most places would just do a recheck if it’s only been a few months to refine the prescription at little or no additional charge.
