Do You Have to Get an Eye Exam Before You Get Contacts if You Already Have Your Glasses Prescription?

So i just got my new glasses and my mom said i could get contacts too.
But i already have my prescription from my glasses and the place im going too has a copy of it.
So when i go to order contacts tommorrow will i have to get an eye exam first?

If your doctor just recently did your eye exam in the last week or two you should just go back to him and ask for a contact fit. You don’t need a new exam and the contact fit shouldn’t take more than a half hour if you’re getting soft lenses. Be prepared to pay the doctor to fit you with contacts however since it is usually an additional charge to an eye exam. You can’t just order the contacts, you’ll need to have the fitting first.
