The base curve and diameter will usually change when you are switching brands, because most brands use different sizing.
One brand may make them in 8.6, and the other brand will call it 8.7…but they are actually the same thing.
It’s the different materials of each lens that affect the fit more.
The diameters can vary by .01 or .02 also, but that doesn’t affect much.
