Every Time You Want to Get New Glasses, Do You NEED to Get an Eye Exam?

i want to get these awesome glasses and they only have them at lens crafters. i got a new pair of glasses in january from america’s best, but i’m really in need of a new frame. but, i just really want to know if i still need to get an eye exam if it’s a different store? can’t i just call up america’s best and ask for my prescription and they can craft the new glasses to my needs?

you can take your prescription anywhere, but it is only good for 2 years or when the prescription expires. lens crafters is a rip off, buy them online instead.
Usually an eyeglasses prescription is good for 2 years. There is no law regulating the number of glasses you can buy during the 2 years the prescription is good (its not like hand guns or something!) I am not sure if they will give a prescription over the phone, mostly because of the chance of sombody messing up and writing down a number wrong. So just go to the place you got your last exam and get a copy (if you don’t already have it).
Also, write down the make & model/number of the frames you like and check at some of the on-line eyeglasses sites before you buy them at Lenscrafters, as that place is a bit on the expensive side. You might be able to save yourself some money.
I think you need to get an eye exam if the prescription is over 1-2 years old.
If you’ve had your prescription for less than a year, you don’t need another exam. If it’s been more than a year, your prescription is expired and you’d need another exam. All you have to do is call up wherever you got the exam and ask them to fax a copy of your prescription to the place you want new glasses from.
No just get your prescription from your old company and they will take care of it.
