Help! Accidentally Used Hard Contact Lens Solution on Soft Contacts…?

Without realizing it I accidentally used hard contact lens solution on a very expensive pair of soft contact lenses. After severe burning in my eyes I figured something must be wrong and it was indeed the solution after all… is there any way to salvage the lenses without having to buy a new pair? I put them in the proper solution and they’ve been soaking for a few days, how long will it take for the old solution to be completely replaced by absorbing the new one?
My eyes are fine as of now, the burning only happens when I put them in and for a few minutes right after I take them out… as it is I probably wont wear them anymore :(

You changed the solution every day, even if you are soaking it. You may use it again.

But I am concerned about your eyes (severe burning), if it still hurt dont wear it. You are not allowed to wear contacts if your eyes are injured.

    You’re okay. I don’t recommend it as a habit.

Sorry, throw them away. You’ve ruined them. We all make mistakes, don’t multiply it by trying to put them back into your eyes because you’ll burn your eyes. It will never rinse out completely.

If you do decide to use them again, this is what will happen …

I’d go with what ED said. Your soft contacts will have absorbed whatever cleaning solution chemicals that are in the hard contact cleaner, and will not be a good thing to be putting back into your eyes.

If you doubt what ED said, contact your eye doctor and follow what he/she says. That way the health of your eyes in in the hands of a face to face professional. Should be the FIRST phone call you make tomorrow morning.
