How Big a Deal Is It to Drive at Night While Wearing Contact Lenses?
I want to start using contact lenses again, but I am doing a lot of driving at night now. How big a deal is it to wear contacts while driving at night? A lot of people online complain about glare. I don’t remember having a big problem with it, but it has been a long time since I have worn contact lenses.
Any helpful info is appreciated.
Thank you.

I wear my contact lenses while Im driving all the time. I generallty wear ones which are monthlies so dont get so dry. Sometimes helps to get some drops if your feeling that they are getting dry.
I don’t personally think that glare is worse through contacts then glasses. If anything its better as with glasses you can always get caught reflections in teh sides of glasses etc from headlights. I do find that driving at night tends to make my eyes drier and for that reason I tend to use glasses instead, but I wouldn’t hesitate to drive at night with contacts. What i do think is true is that if you have bad eyesight glare isn’t as bad with your vision uncorrected in anyway.
If you contact lenses don’t fit well, you can get corneal edema at the end of the day which would lead to glare. I certainly intend for my contact lens wearing patients to be able to wear them to drive at night.
