How Can I Persuade My Mom to Let Me Get Contact Lenses?

I hate glasses because they are REALLY annoying to put on and off. I asked my mom for contact lenses once and she said they were too expensive and that she wouldn’t let me get them until I was 18!!!
Are all contacts expensive? Do you have to be a certain age to get them?
