How Can I Tell if Eyes Are Irritated from Contact Lenses?

I started wearing contacts lenses, and I was wondering if this is normal when wearing contact lenses. Well my eyes are a bit red(veiny red) but my eyes feel fine. Is this normal? And also what are the symptoms of irritated eye when wearing contacts? I try looking online but they just give me pink eye symptoms

I had this same problem. I read on a website that birth control actually has an effect on people who wear contact lenses, I don’t know why. It causes dry eye. My right eye used to get very blood shot at the end of the lens, in the white part of my eye. I just stopped using them all together because they’re annoying to me. My optometrist prescribed me bigger lenses because when you wear them for an extended period of time, they will shrink and can cause that same irritation. Those seemed to have worked better. Try that and see what your optometrist says.
If your eyes are irritated you will know for sure. Red eyes, feeling really heavy and a feeling that they are really itchy could be a sign of an eye infection, ie conjunctivitis. Sometimes before this nasty infection starts you could take a searing pain through your eye, sort of into your brow. Keep your hands and lenses very clean, and be aware that eye shadow/mascara and even shampoo and face creams could affect your eyes when wearing lenses.
