How Do Medical Practitioners Remove Contact Lenses?

Under normal circumstances, before a person undergoes surgery, they are asked if they wear contact lenses and are asked to remove them. What happens in the case of those individuals that require emergency surgery due to accident?

They have a little stick with what looks like a suction cup attached to the end. I don’t know if that’s how they still do it, but they used to do it that way. Are you worried about having someone stick their finger in your eye some day? I’d worry more about my underwear!
now a-days – it’s not like it’s listed on your driver’s license – I got my license before I got glasses…and never thought to change it….who knows if they even check for things like that…and with contacts being so thin, they may not even notice if they check your eyes and your contact slides back….
They are removed either before or after the patient is under sedation. When the pupils are checked, the contacts are visible. Happens all the time – No big deal.
They will just scoop it out with their gloved fingers. If in case of accident to the patient, they will remove it using a suction like device.
