How Long Are Contact Lens Prescriptions Valid?

I want to try ordering contacts online but I don’t want to have to go to the optician and get another check up. My eye site has remained at the same prescription for over 20 yrs I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna change now. Also are there place I can order from with out a prescription if I know my number?
How do I claI am this with my optical insurance?

in the US, law requires a new prescription each year.
So if you want new glasses or contact lenses you must have a valid prescription that’s less than a year old. Any optometrist or ophthalmologist can write the prescription for either.
Don’t assume that 20yrs of no change is alrite..you still need a prescription (even folks who want colors with NO vision probs. need a prescription)

For glasses you can do that,for contact lens you need base curve and diameter also. and the fitting depends on manufacturer also.
About 2 years. Then, you have to get it renewed.
