Personally, I have 30 day contacts as well, I wear them 30 times in a 60 day period and call it good. If I wear them 30 times in 30 days I toos them. If I do not use them 30 times and the 60th day comes up I toss them. I work for an eye doctor that tells the patients that this is ok. 30 wears in a 60 day period of time, waking hours only (no sleeping in them) and clean and disinfect them well every time you use them. If you wear them every day, using them for 60 days is bad because the lense is not designed to last that long with daily use. I really would call your doctor’s office and ask them what they say about it and stick to what they say. If you do not wear them every day, but only 2 or 3 times a week ask them if you can keep them for two months instead. See what they tell you and stick to it.
Thirty days is a month. So you’re both right.
Isn’t that the same thing?
You put them in one time a day, and there are 30 days in month; therefore, it’s the same thing.
You shouldn’t wear them for more than 8 hours a day- most people do anyway, but they wear out quicker the more you use them.
You can wear them for 30 days.
But you can get away with wearing them longer, it isn’t a great idea to Wear them to bed, but it’s ok if you wear them more then 30 days.
Honestly, they are as good for however long you take care of them for. They usually come to an end when you lose them, they rip, or you are needing a different prescription as eye sight does change as you age.
The lens itself doesnt lose its prescription. It can gather oils and gunk but that can be washed off.
I’ve been wearing contacts for 10 years. I dont take them out everyday, in fact the pair Im wearing right now I’ve had them in for a month now. But they need to be cleaned as Im needing to squint. My optometrist gave me a box of probly 10 contact lenses, I haven’t seen him in about 3 years. I still got 1 new lens left. The ones in right now I’ve had for 6 months I guess. I usually only take them out every 2 weeks. I know they say "everyday" but I havent had a problem keeping them in for a couple weeks at a time the last 10 years.
So to answer your question … dont throw them out after 30 days. Wear them for however long you feel comfortable with them. They’ll still work after a month. You’ll know when they need to be changed.
