I don’t think any contacts you are supposed to wear over 12 hours.
My hubby wears the same kind of lenses. He used to discard them every 3 weeks and wear them 12 hrs a day. He got an eye ulcer and almost lost his eye! Scary huh? Ulcers appear as a tiny dot in the eye. They expand super fast if go untreated. My hubby was lucky I saw it in time and of course tried to get it off with my nail! Treatment is super expensive and you always have that tiny dot as a scar. lucky it was not in the green part but the white.
The doc said DO NOT wear your contacts more than 8 hrs.
Allow your eyes to breathe!
Rinse them very well and Avoid switching solution brands too much.
Good luck!
That’s a very good questions for your eye doctor. You may call the office and ask them to be on the safe side. I would not recommend wearing your contacts overnight. It gives your eyes time to rest and your contacts time to set in the solution to help fight bacteria. If you wear the same contacts longer than prescribed than you can end up with a very serious eye infection and unable to wear them. Believe me, I speak from experience. I was trying to save money, but in the long run it cost me more. Good Luck!
Definitely ask your optometrist even if you feel convinced by one of the answers. I’m not familiar with any contact manufacturer; I never bothered to know the name… sorry.
Some side information:
If you’re wearing contacts because you don’t want to wear glasses, I suggest you try the night contacts. You put them on before you sleep and just take them off when you wake up (though you should wear them for at least 7 or 8 hours depending on what your optometrist tells you). I’m not sure if there are soft contacts for that because I wear "night contacts" and they’re hard contacts (made of glass). You get them replaced after over a year (more or less). Now you won’t get eye infections from these or any contacts as long as you clean them before you put them back in the container. YOU ALWAYS want to have them clean and you can buy solutions for that. I used Bausch & Lomb and you can just buy that at Cosco or Sams Club (I forgot which).
Well if you’ve never heard of the hard contacts or wearing contacts during the night rather than day, listen to what your optometrist has to say about. Just know your options.
