It depends if you have a current prescription (within a year or 6 months depending on where you go) or not.
If you do have a current prescription, then it’ll take 10 to 30 minutes. They will do some measurements of your eyes and do some examinations. Then most places will have a free trial pair for you to have. Most places will show you how to put in and take out your contacts to make sure you are able to and that you are doing it correctly. They will teach you what to do, how to clean them, etc. I also suggest buying or borrowing some sunglasses, as contacts make you (in most cases) more light sensitive at first.
If you don’t have a current prescription then you need to go through the whole examination and then the contact stuff.
It won’t take long at all. Perhaps 10 minutes to check your eyes and sometimes you can get contacts on the spot if they have your specifications
when you go to get contact lenses it takes a while you have to do all the tests over again like the air in your eye the distance test and you have to look and see which vision is better for you. then they will suggest a lens for you and will let you try a pair on they will show you hopw to put them on and if they have the lenses there you will get them then and there if not they may have to order them.
