How Long Will It Take for an Eye Exam to Get Contacts?

I have to get an eye exam on Friday. I’m almost positive that I’ll need glasses and I plan to get contacts. How long will all of this take?

Well, for a first timer, you’ll need to go through all of the standard checkups that everyone else does. These take less than 30 minutes. After doing the checkups, the doctor then decides whether you need glasses or not. Seeing as you’re sure that you’ll need glasses, I recommend that you wait until the doctor finishes the order and then get the glasses first. The frame is all up to you, and chances are there will be plenty in the store to choose from. This could vary from 15 – 20 minutes. The glasses that the doctor orders could take 4 days to a week to come in. Since you never had glasses before (at least that’s what I assume), take some time and get used to seeing the frames and the clarity first before making a separate appointment for contact lenses. When going through the contact lens training, the time could vary from 5 minutes (depending if you can get the lenses in quickly) or 40 minutes (like me, who had to get used to the feeling of the lenses in my eyes first). Normally, the average person needs to adjust to the feeling and most people take 15 – 20 minutes. Good luck, and take your time! That’s what counts.
My eye exam lasted about forty minutes. I had to wait about four days for the glasses, I don’t think you’ll be waiting much longer for the contacts now that they’re very popular.
when i got my eye exam i was in and out in like 15 mins i think it was rly quick
ive heard most doctors wont allow contacts unless uve had glasses for over a year(i saw it on yahoo answers)
i usually get one pair of contacts the same day. I usually get the disposable ones that you wear for a couple months and throw away. The rest of the order are sometimes in stock, but usually i have to wait a couple weeks.
But since they give you one pair right away, it’s cool, because you don’t have to wait at all.
